EBU announces the 4th Radio Day of European Cultures
Languages Through Microphones - 18 October 2009
"Languages Through Microphones" will be the motto on 18 October 2009 when radiostations all over the continent will devote their programmes to the subject of multilingualism.
In 2009 the bi-annual Radio Day of European Cultures stands under the patronage of Leonard Orban, Member of the European Commission responsible for multilingualism. Already on the 17 October the Radio Day will be started during the PRIX EUROPA Opening Ceremony.
According to the EBU, in 2007 the potential audience of the Radio Day was set at 450 million listeners in all of Europe.
